Botanical art bridges science and creativity, combining the intricate details of natural forms with artistic expression. Plants display stunning colors, graceful shapes, and naturally occurring patterns that captivate the eye, evoking a sense of harmony and beauty. This gallery showcases two collections: The first a collection of early spring ephemerals from Minnesota, emphasizing the detail, texture, and elegance of these beautiful and delicate plants. The second, is a collection of cultivated flowers from various gardens in the midwest.
AFrican Wildlife
In the autumn of 2025, I traveled to Kenya for my first trip to Africa. The people and animals of the country were nothing short of amazing - amazing because the wild places remain, not untouched, but left intact alongside the Masai people and visitors that venture there. This is a collection of African wildlife galleries, highlighting the mammals and birds of the Masai Mara Reserve, Amboseli National Park, and animal images taken from a night hide in the Rift Valley. Added are aerial images of the eastern Rift Valley volcanic lakes: Lake Magadi and Lake Natron. These lakes show extraordinary swirling colors of minerals and alkaline-loving algae, which constantly shape shift with the rain and wind.
North American Bears
This gallery features images of Brown Bears, Polar Bears, and Black Bears, all native to North America. Brown bears were photographed in Katmai National Park, Alaska; Polar bears near Churchill, Manitoba; and Black bears in northern Minnesota.
